Prime Now is a new initiative and can be accessed via www.amazon.co.uk/volvo. Amazon customers will need to enter their postcode and pick an available time slot, before having the car delivered to their home or workplace.
A fully trained Volvo operative will then bring the car to their door and accompany them on a 45-minute test drive around the local area. The Volvo representative will also explain all the V40’s functions while on the test drive.
Locations for the Prime Now test drives are limited to four cities in the UK for the time being: London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. The drives are available on selected weekends throughout June and July and are offered on a first come first serve basis. The service will kick off in London between 9-10 June, before moving to Birmingham (16-17 June), Manchester (23-24 June) and Edinburgh (30 June-1 July).
Jon Wakefield, Managing Director of Volvo Car UK, said: “At Volvo Cars, we aim to make people’s lives easier. Our Prime Now test drive offer does just that, allowing potential customers to try our V40 on their terms and in familiar surroundings.
“We’re proud to team up with Amazon to deliver this unique initiative, the first of its kind in the UK and the latest in a range of offerings from Volvo designed to take the hassle out of running a car.”
The Prime Now test drive initiative comes as part of Volvo’s plan to make buying and owning a car easier and simpler. After the introduction of their Care by Volvo package, which sees cars owned on a subscription basis with no up-front costs, Volvo is now aiming to simplify test drives for its customers.
